Dimple Kapadia Says God Gave Her More Than Her Share In Life: 'I Would’ve Been Arrogant B**ch If...'
Dimple Kapadia looked back at her journey in films. The actress expressed her gratitude towards God.

Veteran actress Dimple Kapadia expressed her gratitude to God for giving her many opportunities very early in her life. In a new interview, Dimple reflected upon her journey in the film industry — from starting off as Rishi Kapoor’s leading lady in Raj Kapoor’s Bobby and marrying Rajesh Khanna to their public split and starring in Christopher Nolan. She said this wouldn’t be possible if God wasn’t on her side.
Regardless of the highs and lows, she is grateful it all happened. “God gave me more than my share very early on in life. The kind of heights I’ve seen—people would’ve killed for it," Dimple told Vogue India. She added, “The one thing He didn’t give me is a brain. He probably thought, ‘This woman has everything. She’ll fly off the handle if she’s smart as well.’ Everything has been larger than life—my debut with Raj Kapoor, my marriage to Rajesh Khanna, my foray into Hollywood with Christopher Nolan. If He had not taken care of me, I would’ve been one arrogant b**ch."

For the unversed, Dimple began her film journey with Bobby. She was just 16 years old when the film release. In the same year, she got married to Rajesh Khanna, the biggest superstar at the time. She gave up her acting career and surrendered herself to her marriage. With Rajesh, she welcomed two daughters — Twinkle Khanna and Rinki Khanna. However, their marriage started falling apart and eventually, they separated ways. However, they did not file for a divorce.
At an event in 2018, Dimple revisited the separation and said that Twinkle was very mature about the split. In the video, shared by Brut India on Instagram earlier this year, Dimple was asked who is more like a mother in the family and she named Twinkle. While she was speaking about Twinkle’s ‘motherly qualities’, Dimple opened up about how the actress-turned-author dealt with her parents’ separation.
“She was an amazing child. She must have been all of, I think, seven or eight when I got separated. And the kind of maturity (she showed). She was only wanting to take care of me, to see if I am okay, if everything is alright with me and… There’s a lot of things I can’t say but she was a like my friend. She was like a friend to me, then she turned into a monster mother so that’s how she is today," Dimple said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Dimple recently made headlines for her film, Go Noni Go. The film was premiered at MAMI Film Festival last week. The film was an adaptation of Twinkle’s short stories and starred Dimple in the lead.
